LE XUAN CHIEU

(1956)

Born on the 14th of June 1956 at Ha Tay province, Vietnam.
Graduate from Fine Arts secondary level and higher level at Fine Arts University of Vietnam, 42 Yet Kieu Street, Ha Noi.
Professor at Fine Arts University of Ho Chi Minh City, 5 Phan Dang Luu St., Ward 3, District of Binh Thanh, HCM City.
To his account, many painting exhibitions have been organized in and out of the country and have won several awards.
In 1976, took part to national Paintings Exhibition in which his work entitled: “Dawn on Red River ” painted with color powder; size: 90cmx120cm.
In 1978, participated to Fine Arts Exhibition in Spring with the work entitled: “Going on Spring Pilgrimage”; painting material: aquarelle; size: 45cmx70cm. This work had been collected by Arts Museum of Vietnam.
In 1980, had exhibited in Democratic Republic of Germany in ” commemoration of 40 years of victory over Germany fascism” with 2 works: “Sunlight on Dalat” and a “Still life” painting (flowers); material: water color; size: 45cmx70cm; organized by Department of Fine Arts.
In 1985, participated to exhibition in Algeria of painting over carved wood metal with entitled: “Caring Milky Cows”; material: carved wood; size: 30cmx40cm, organized by Department of Fine Arts.
In the same year of 1985, took part to fine arts national exhibition with the work entitled: “Fall”; material: carved wood; size: 50cmx80cm.
In the years 1993 – 1994, group exhibition house, 43 Trang Tien St., Ha Noi, organized by the Ha Noi Fine Arts Company.
In 1995, organizing exhibition of Artists group 2 at Exhibition house 16 Ngo Quyen St., Ha Noi by Fine Arts Association of Viet Nam.
In 1997, 3rd prize of sector 2, annual Fine Arts awards organized by Fine Arts Association of Viet Nam; exhibited work: “Going on Spring Pilgrimage”; material: lacquer; size: 140cmx200cm.
In the same year of 1997, obtained honor merit certificate conferred by Philip Morris Asia with the work entitled: “Impression of Time”; material: lacquer; size: 90cmx120cm
In 1998, 2nd Prize of Sector 2, annual fine arts awards organized by Fine Arts Association of Viet Nam, with the work entitled: “Spring Festival”; material: lacquer; size: 140cmx240cm.
In the same year of 1998, honor merit certificate conferred by Philip Morris Asia with the work: ” Lette from Buddha”; material: lacquer; size: 160cmx180cm.
In this same year, 2nd Prize from Nguyen Trai Awards of Ha Tay Literature and Art Association.
In 1999 awarded annual Fine Arts prize of Sector 2 organized by Fine Arts Association of Viet Nam with the work entitled “Four Seasons Music Festival”; material : lacquer; size : 100cmx200cm.
In the same year, awarded honor merit certificate conferred by Philip Morris Asia with the artist work named ” Festival”; material: lacquer; size: 100cmx200cm.
Was chosen to be ordered a lacquer painting entitled “Ha Long Bay” destined to guest house of Prime Minister; size: 700cmx240cm.

In 2002, awarded annual Fine Arts Prizes, sector 6 (Ho Chi Minh City) with the work entitled “Return to Ka-tu’s Hamlet”; material: lacquer; size: 90cmx280cm.
Artist’s collection of paintings may be found in France, United States, Japan, Germany, Netherlands, Algeria and Malaysia.
